Bon voyage Abby!

The amazing Abby has been with us for 12 months now, involved in lots of different things. Travelling from Malaysia she got used to the rain, lots of cups of tea, and even built a snowman when she was here! Sadly she is now flying home. “A year just flew away and it doesn’t feel that long ago that I wrote about arriving in Shrewsbury, and now I am wrapping up and saying goodbye! Thank you, everyone, for your hospitality and for looking out for me in my time......

Jan 2018

I was in a meeting this week talking about some of the different people, and organisations, we get to support across the world. Thank you so much for your generosity, giving over £20k last year to support God’s work locally and further afield. I received an email from the Bible Society this morning,  one of the organisations we give regularly too. They’re amazing. It included this video about Bibles being brought to a remote tribe in West Papua. I must have seen it a dozen times, but still find......

Spring 2018 termcards now available

The new spring termcards are now available, with details about what we are doing on Sundays across the parish for the next few months. It’s always hard to know how best to talk about what is happening across Trinity Churches. The termcard also points people towards midweek small groups, children and youth activities, and details of......

Spring 2018 Sunday services

As the new year of 2018 begins we’re really excited about all that’s coming up on Sundays in spring 2018. In the morning services in January and the first part of February we’re going to be looking at what we’re calling “The Jesus Creed”, and what is might mean to “love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and strength.” Each week we’ll be exploring these well known words from Deuteronomy, as well as spoken by Jesus, and taking practical steps in our discipleship today. Meanwhile the......

Guided Prayer in Lent 2018

Personal prayer is personal – a time when we do business with God one-to-one, in honesty and without the need to defer to other peoples’ expectations of what prayer is. It is an essential part of Christian living. And yet, if you are like me, there are times when we feel that a bit of guidance wouldn’t go amiss. Not ‘expert’ advice (how can someone be an expert on me?) but the companionship of someone who is committed to the same quest. Here is a proposal for next Lent:......
