Children at Holy Trinity

IMG_8594At Holy Trinity we are passionate about seeing children enabled to live the life God has promised them.

Each child is unique and made in the image of God and we want to ensure that every child hears the invitation of Jesus to come and follow Him.  We want to see that each one is enabled to live a life of adventure, a life which reflects the love, grace and peace of God.

There are a number of events – midweek and on a Sunday – which are part of our core vision as a parish to be “growing younger”, sharing our faith to new generations coming after us.

Trinity Kids

Children’s groups on a Sunday Morning.

Our heart is for people of all ages to grow, to know and follow Jesus.  All ages begin worship together on a Sunday morning in the main Church building. Then Sparklers, Shooting Stars and Galaxies begin each Trinity Kids (TK) session in the Bradbury Hall for a shared teaching and worship time before splitting into smaller groups.

  • Twinklers for 0-2 year olds meet in the Tower Vestry. This is a manned crèche where we aim to help the children have fun, feel loved and safe and enjoy being part of the Church family.
  • Sparklers for Foundation Stage children (from 3rd birthday to the end of the Reception year) meet in the Bradbury Hall. Sparklers explore the TK themes using play, fun, stories, craft and music.
  • Shooting Stars for Years 1, 2 and 3 meet in the Bradbury Hall. Shooting Stars explore the TK themes using games, drama, fun, stories, craft and music.
  • Galaxies for Years 4, 5 and 6 meet in the Bradbury Hall at first and then move to the Glebe Room where they explore the TK themes using discussion, drama, technology and craft. Our Year 6 TKs begin to take on some leadership responsibilities for our time together.

Trinity Tots

Trinity Tots is a toddler group for young children and their carers.

The group is led by our pre-schools worker Carol Booles and her team of volunteers. It meets at 1.15 pm on a Monday during term times in the Trinity Centre.

There’s always lots of fun and sessions may include craft activities, playdough, water or sand play and role play. Each session concludes with singing time and light refreshments are provided.

Join us on the second Friday morning of each month in term-time. We meet in the Trinity Centre at 10.30am and finish with a short service in church followed by lunch for the children. If you care for young children you and your children would be very welcome.

Family Feast

Family Feast An afternoon of games, crafts, worship and food,  for primary-aged children and their families.

We usually meet on the last Thursday of each school half term, 4.30pm till 6pm. We’ll begin with about eight different activities based around a particular theme or story from the Bible. There are things for everyone to get involved in, from messy and noisy to quiet and thoughtful – and everything in between. We then go into church for about 15 minutes to sing and hear a story, before finishing off with a family-friendly meal for everyone in the Trinity Centre. Entry is free although a donation is requested to cover the cost of the food.

Family Feast is part of the network of “Messy Churches“, a creative and family-friendly way of being and doing church across the UK and beyond.
