Living Stones – 2017 Appeal

This year marks a significant birthday, one hundred and fifty years since the foundation stone was laid of the current church in Meole Brace. We’re excited to be inviting everyone to be involved in building the church once more today.

We are already doing a lot of great work across the parish and beyond, but we believe there’s potential to do so much more. Further improving our current buildings will enable us to better serve our church family, and to bless our wider community.

We are looking to complete four projects:

  • refurbishing Café Connect after fifteen years of amazing service – we need to re-vitalise the Café to allow us to further develop our mission in Radbrook
  • installing a bespoke projection system at Holy Trinity to dramatically improve our stunning church, enhance our worship and encourage creativity
  • enlarging and improving the Meet Place on the Meole Estate to allow us to expand our work to serve this community
  • blessing our mission partners the Fletcher family with a suitable place to live and serve the Khlong Toey slum in Bangkok following a recent devastating fire

Will you join the hundreds who have served in this parish before us as ‘Living Stones’ to equip our buildings to serve our community? We are asking for three equally important responses, to pray, to serve, and to give.

  • Pray with us for the different areas of our church life served by the Living Stones Appeal. We’ll send you details of specific things to be praying for each of these projects, including latest news updates from the Fletcher family in Bangkok.
  • Serve alongside others in one of the Living Stones appeal projects. Volunteer for a weekly session at Café Connect? Support a midweek group on the Meole Estate? Get involved in Sunday worship?
  • Give generously to the Living Stones appeal. We are looking to raise in the region of £100,000, and have already secured £40,000. To reach our target, we reckon that we would need something like one gift of £10,000, five gifts of £5,000+, ten gifts of £1,000+, and one hundred gifts of £50-£500.

Our hope is that our prayers, our lives and our gifts will build on the stones of previous generations. Will you please carefully and prayerfully consider getting involved in this appeal?
