The Glebe Field next door to church

We are pleased to say that as of a few days ago the PCC of Holy Trinity Meole Brace took full ownership of what is known as the “Glebe Field” next to the church. 2019 marks one hundred and fifty years since our current church building opened, and so this newly-acquired ownership comes at a time when we celebrate our ongoing life for over one thousand years at the heart of Meole Brace. As we hope both the church and Trinity Centre are a gift to many near and......

Exciting opportunity to get involved!

This year Steve Jones and a few others are planning a dramatised Passion Play on the morning of Good Friday Friday 19th April 2019 as part of the established ‘Walk of Witness’ that annually takes place up Pride Hill, Shrewsbury. It will start in the Quarry with Christ’s betrayal and move to Mardol Head with Peter’s betrayal and then into The Square with Pilate’s washing of hands and then the Presentation of the Last Supper. We have also discovered links to the 16th and 17th century ‘passion plays’ that......

Wedding Launch

We had our annual Wedding Launch last Saturday which was fantastic! 13 couples who will marry at Trinity Churches in 2019 were able to attend to get information for their bespoke Big Day as well as tips on the Christian service of marriage such as conflict management. They were able to meet and chat to their assigned clergy and there was a Q & A session to help them with their queries. Do keep an eye out on our website for details of the next Wedding Launch, in 2020.......

Cowboy & Preacher

Come and see this brand new ‘cowboy movie’ – written, directed and produced by Will Fraser, who is also a professional church organist in London! Set in stunning Idaho landscape, in the USA, the Cowboy Preacher explores the role of Christians in relation to what the Bible says about the environment. This is a film being shown in the Trinity Centre on Friday 1st February 7.30pm to provide a platform on which we, at Holy Trinity Meole Brace, can think about the environment from a Christian perspective. A "towering blend" of maths and poetry

Look up and down the people who belong at church and you’ll be amazed at some of the gifts and talents around. From master bakers to dress makers, top-class surgeons to computer wizzkids, rugby stars to cappuccino kings and queens, it’s lovely to see how people with such a variety of gifts can share their greatest passion – following Christ – together. One such person is Michael Carding, who has recently published a book of poetry. He will be launching his recently published collection, SHAPELY LINES, at Shrewsbury Library......

Seven deadly sins - and how to overcome them?

We’re just kicking off a sermon series in the 630pm congregation on the “Seven deadly sins.” I wonder what feelings the word “sin” conjures up for you? Perhaps it was once the sort of thing that might strike fear into us, to be avoided at all costs. But, in the words of one writer, it has now been turned “from a Rottweiler into a poodle.” We may greet it with a smirk, or a heavy dose of irony. “It’s naughty… but nice” we tell ourselves. For others these “sins”......
